What we measure

Carbon dioxide (CO₂)
Why we measure it: High carbon dioxide levels indicate poor ventilation, which facilitates the spread of airborne viruses like COVID-19 and the common cold. Poor ventilation can also cause drowsiness, headaches, and impair concentration and decision-making.
Humidity
Why we measure it: Too much or too little moisture in the air leads to cold and flu symptoms and increases the risk of mould growing in the building, which is toxic to the occupants.
Temperature
Why we measure it: Cold temperatures can suppress the immune system and increase the risk of respiratory illnesses like bronchiolitis, especially in children and elderly.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Why we measure it: VOCs are gases often emitted indoors from household items like cleaning products, craft materials and building supplies. Long-term exposure can cause skin and respiratory irritation.
Particulates
Why we measure it: Exposure to air pollutants such as dust, dirt, soot or smoke can affect both your lungs and your heart. Particles are often so fine that they can't be seen by the naked eye.
Lighting
Why we measure it: Each space has its own lighting needs, but too much lighting is inefficient, and excessive sunlight can cause glare and discomfort.
Acoustics
Why we measure it: Noisy environments can be distracting. Monitoring acoustics helps identify opportunities for improvement, such as adding sound dampening or adjusting space usage.
