Environmental Monitoring

Welcome to JK Building Wellness, dedicated to enhancing indoor environments in workspaces across New Zealand.

In today's evolving world, the importance of indoor air quality is more recognised than ever. As people spend a significant portion of their time indoors, the quality of indoor air can profoundly impact their health and well-being.

Awareness of the effects of poor indoor environments is growing, leading to higher expectations for healthier spaces. Here at JK Building Wellness, we’ve partnered with AirSuite™ to develop innovative tools that empower organisations to monitor, understand, and improve their indoor environmental conditions.

We offer more than just sensors; our solutions are tailored to meet your workspace objectives and deliver exceptional results. Whether your goals include reducing staff turnover, cutting operating costs, conserving energy, or achieving sustainability targets, JK Building Wellness is here to help you succeed.

Whether you're interested in enhancing indoor air quality or exploring indoor environmental monitoring, we're eager to connect with you. Join us in creating healthier and more productive workspaces for all.

What we measure

Carbon dioxide (CO₂)
Why we measure it: High carbon dioxide levels indicate poor ventilation, which facilitates the spread of airborne viruses like COVID-19 and the common cold. Poor ventilation can also cause drowsiness, headaches, and impair concentration and decision-making.
Humidity
Why we measure it: Too much or too little moisture in the air leads to cold and flu symptoms, and increases the risk of mold growing in the building, which is toxic to the occupants.
Temperature
Why we measure it: Cold temperatures can suppress the immune system and increase the risk of respiratory illnesses like bronchiolitis, especially in children and elderly.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
Why we measure it: VOCs are gases often emitted indoors from household items like cleaning products, craft materials and building supplies. Long-term exposure can cause skin and respiratory irritation.
Particulates
Why we measure it: Exposure to air pollutants such as dust, dirt, soot or smoke can affect both your lungs and your heart. Particles are often so fine that they can't be seen by the naked eye.
Lighting
Why we measure it: Each space has its own lighting needs, but too much lighting is inefficient, and excessive sunlight can cause glare and discomfort.
Acoustics
Why we measure it: Noisy environments can be distracting. Monitoring acoustics helps identify opportunities for improvement, such as adding sound dampening or adjusting space usage.
Occupancy
Why we measure it: Having too many people in a workspace can reduce productivity, increase stress, limit personal space, hamper communication, and heighten illness risk.
